Remembering D-Day 75 Years Ago
Ten years ago I had the experience of a lifetime that would be among the most moving in my life. A visit to the Normandy Coast and several of the beachheads where allied troops landed and began what would ultimately be the beginning of the end of Nazi tyranny and buy our world freedom at the ultimate price..
These men resting at the American Cemetery at Omaha Beach paid the ultimate price for our freedom. Allied casualties were at least 10,000, with 4,414 confirmed dead.
Bomb craters still remain at Pointe Du Hoc where German gun emplacements were shelled…
American Army Rangers climbed the cliffs of Pointe Du Hoc.
And now we live free. You’d never know the carnage that happened here 75 years ago. You have to search for it. Freedom is not free. Thank you veterans for your ultimate sacrifice on this day.
