Swinging Into Spring
We’re Stepping Up To The Plate For A New SeasonWinter’s icy grip is finally letting up. How do we know? We can feel the warm breeze between its fingers already! With every spring’s arrival, hope follows in tow. Nowhere is that more evident than in baseball, which is more than America’s pastime—it’s also the most appropriate analogy for hope, interest, diligence, and attention to detail throughout the rest of our year. Spring training is winding down, and Garrett experienced the waning days of the Cactus League in Arizona this week. Each year, the 162-game Major League Baseball season reminds us that the rest of the year is a marathon, not a sprint. And, to date, no team in MLB’s 122-year history has ever won every game. Not one undefeated season among the bunch, in more than 200,000 major league games since then. Every day is filled with winners and losers, but every team takes the field and plays the next day. Little improvements in May and April can pay off big when October comes around, and there’s a lot to be said about constant improvement over the long haul. Baseball also teaches us an important lesson: Failure is part of the championship process. Even if a batter gets a hit four out of 10 at-bats — statistically speaking, that’s failing more often than succeeding — that batter is still a sure-fire hall-of-famer! We won’t win them all, but we can choose to enjoy the sunshine along the way. Learn more about our photography or contact us. |
