This Year’s NAVIGATOR Conference Brought Emergency Dispatchers from Across the World to Denver.
There are no readily accessible rules for navigating any emergency or disaster. At least, none that come to mind during a crisis. And yet, for every emergency around the world, there’s a voice on the other end of a phone line, helping us navigate the worst until help arrives.
Last week, we photographed the NAVIGATOR Conference here in Denver that brought emergency responders from around the world to our home here in the Rockies to gather and discuss how they can better prepare for our emergencies. It was humbling to hear from speakers such as J.R. Martinez, pictured above, who’ve spent their lives telling others how to stay resilient and hopeful in the face of tragedy.
We’re grateful to the first responders who often put themselves in harm’s way when arriving at a critical moment. But we’re just as equally grateful to the dispatchers around the world that speak the same language when the worst happens: calm. Their voices are guiding lights during some of our darkest times. Thank you to all the medical, police, and fire dispatchers.
