Celebrating 25 Years in Business!

Highwayman

Kris Kristofferson lived by a set of rules we often overlook. “Tell the truth. Sing with passion. Work with laughter. Love with heart.” The modern-day renaissance man — actor, musician, artist, and poet — left us too soon last month, but the mark he left on Garrett and the rest of us will remain.

After excelling academically and serving as a helicopter pilot in the U.S. Army, Kristofferson pursued music, transforming American songwriting’s landscape. His raw, poetic lyrics and storytelling abilities resonated deeply with listeners.

He penned timeless songs, including “Me and Bobby McGee,” “Help Me Make It Through the Night,” and “Sunday Mornin’ Comin’ Down,” all of which became classics. His ability to weave complex emotions into simple melodies inspired countless artists, including Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, and Janis Joplin. We take inspiration from him daily, too.

Beyond music, Kristofferson was a celebrated actor, starring in films like “A Star is Born” and “Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid.” He was a member of the iconic supergroup, The Highwaymen, alongside Cash, Nelson, and Waylon Jennings.

Kris Kristofferson’s legacy will endure through his profound influence on songwriting, blending vulnerability with ruggedness. His work touched the hearts of millions and will continue to inspire us during our toughest times. Like he said once, “If you can’t get out of something, get into it.” We couldn’t agree more.
