What’s Possible
What’s possible? In a season we are all going through, called 2020, it seems improbable or impossible are more the catch-words of the day.
So what’s possible? Love, joy and creativity. And a lost sense of fulfillment returning, all at once, on the other end of an email titled “We’re Coming to Colorado!”
It was KB and Nathan. One of my earliest and favorite couples whose wedding I photographed 15 years ago in Keystone, CO. They were coming to the mountains of Colorado to get a breather from a life and routine in Texas, wearing all too thin in this crazy year we are living through.
It was wonderful to see my long time friends again. We have long since passed “client” and even first names, settling most often for initials like “G” & “KB”. That’s love…
Joy comes from seeing folks whose wedding day you documented back when you still shot film (and they remember that!), bring gorgeous twin girls into the world.
Being there for their “babymoon” visit, to Colorado, getting the “bump” shots and then watching and capturing moments through the years as they grow as a beautiful, loving family. That’s the creativity.
Fulfillment comes from the sum total of all these moments shared and remembered over 15 years. With people you didn’t even know 15 ½ years ago.
That’s what’s possible. A new friendship right around the corner. Unexpected joy in an otherwise dark emotional season. And to do what you love for a living, even in the most difficult of economic times.
I’d love to invite you to read here, what these beautiful people shared yesterday in a review, summing up the years from their perspective.
